Two people face multiple weapons related charges for incident in Bedford

A man and a woman are facing multiple weapons related charges for an incident in Bedford on Monday.

Police said at roughly 9:20 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the Bedford Highway and Meadowbrook Drive.

According to Halifax Regional Police, officers recovered a weapon and the driver of the vehicle fled the area on foot while the passenger was arrested at the scene.

Later that evening, police found the suspect on Rocky Lake Drive where he was arrested without further incident.

Russell Timothy Parker, 40, was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday to face a laundry list of charges including possession of a firearm in a vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon and flight from peace officer, among many other offences.

Logan MacLeod, 20, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face multiple charges including, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of a firearm in a vehicle, among others.
