RCMP in Halifax is looking for a man wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant.
Police say at around 9:30 on Wednesday night, officers responded to a report of a man in distress at a home on the 100 block of West Petpeswick Road, and the officers learned that a man allegedly damaged the home with an axe before running into the woods.
The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old, Brandon Crawford Grant. He is described as 6’4, 300 lbs. and has brown hair and brown eyes and he may be armed.
In an afternoon update, the Mounties say there was a police presence maintained at Eastern Shore District High School on Thursday out of an abundance of caution, while Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital and The Birches – a nursing home – were kept up to date on the police operation.
“Throughout the day, officers cleared several locations and structures in the communities of West Petpeswick and Musquodoboit Harbour,” police said in a news release.
Anyone with information on Grant’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
People are warned not to approach Grant if he is spotted.
