Man facing charges after a raft of shoplifting thefts in Amherst

A 31-year-old man is facing several charges after a string of thefts over the long weekend in Amherst, N.S.

The alleged incidents include the theft of a bicycle and helmet from a business on Robert Angus Drive, theft of clothing from a business on Church Street, theft of multiple items from a business on Lawrence Street among others.

In all, Andrew Stoicheci, who has no-fixed address, is charged with five counts of theft under $5000.

The thefts allegedly occurred between June 29 and July 1 and Stoicheci was arrested on July 1 and remanded in custody.

He made a brief appearance in court on July 2 and is scheduled to appear again on July 4.
