Police have arrested a woman who was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Bedford, N.S. over the weekend.

On Sunday at roughly 2:10 a.m., emergency crews responded to a collision on the Bedford Bypass where a Honda Accord struck a Nissan Altima while travelling in the same direction.

According to RCMP, the initial crash then caused the Nissan to leave the roadway, flip and come to rest on its roof.

Police said the occupants of the Nissan, a 34-year-old female driver and a 39-year-old male passenger, both from Dartmouth, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Honda then fled the area.

Mounties said later that day, they found the Honda in a parking lot on Kennedy Drive in Dartmouth and that evening, officers arrested the driver involved in the collision at a home on Upper Partridge River Road in East Preston, N.S.

The 30-year-old Dartmouth woman was later released on conditions.

She will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court next month to face charges of dangerous operation of a conveyance, assault with a weapon and failure to stop after accident.
