Rain puts damper on Halifax fireworks show, again

Haligonians hoping to watch fireworks in the harbour will have to wait at least one more month.

The municipality announced postponed Canada Day fireworks — rescheduled from Monday night to Friday night because of rain — are being cancelled due to more wet weather in the forecast.

“The next fireworks display on the Halifax Harbour will be held Saturday, August 3 as part of Natal Day long weekend,” read a statement from the city.

Lower Sackville’s Canada Day fireworks show was also delayed by rain on Monday. At last update, that community planned to go ahead with its show on Sunday, Jul. 7 at 10 p.m.
