Serious single-vehicle collision with a tree on Prospect Road

The Halifax Detachment of the RCMP are investigating a “serious” single-vehicle crash that happened in Hatchet Lake.

On Friday at 11:25 a.m., RCMP, fire services and paramedics responded to reports of a Honda Civic involved in a collision near the 1400 block of Prospect Road.

Once on scene, officers learned the vehicle was travelling east when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The 37-year-old man driving suffered what police are calling “serious injuries” and was transported to hospital by LifeFlight.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

The roadway was closed several hours but have since reopened.
