No injuries after Tuesday morning fire in Halifax apartment complex

A fire on the 7th floor of an apartment building on Vimy Avenue in Halifax forced several people out of their homes Tuesday morning.

Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency was called to the scene in the 0-100 block around 6:25 a.m. after receiving an alarm call. When they arrived, they found a working fire in an apartment and called in additional resources.

Crews managed to put out the fire quickly, but significant water damage was reported on floors below the fire scene.

The Red Cross was called to help those living in those apartments find accommodation.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
