Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Beechville

Mounties have charged a man with attempted murder in connection to a stabbing in Beechville.

On Sunday shortly after midnight, emergency crews responded to a report of a stabbing on Hamilton Street where they found a man suffering from serious injuries.

Police said they learned two men who knew eachother were involved in a physical altercation inside a home and during this fight, one person took out a knife and stabbed the other multiple times in the torso.

The victim, a 35-year-old Timberlea man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

Roughly a half hour later, Mounties along with RCMP police dog services found and safely arrested a 28-year-old Beechville man in the woods nearby.

RCMP said Shondre Jarvis has been charged with attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

He was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
