Lake Echo man wanted on province-wide warrant in connection to assault

The Mounties are turning to the public as the search continues for a man wanted in connection to an assault in the Halifax area.

Police say a province-wide arrest warrant has been issued for Matthew Richard Hardy, 33, of Lake Echo. He’s wanted for an alleged assault in Lower Sackville and is facing charges including assault by choking and failing to comply with a probation order.

Hardy is described as as 5’10” and 170 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

The RCMP says if you see Hardy, don’t approach him and instead get in touch with police at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
