HRM announced yesterday those letters will be sent out early next month and will feature everything people will need to know to vote in the upcoming election, including voting options and locations.

They will also contain an personal identification number if people want to vote online or by phone starting October 8.

Other advance voting days include Saturday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Election day is Oct. 19 and there are 16 people running for mayor of the HRM, including former Halifax MP Andy Fillmore, housing advocate Andrew Goodsell and HRM councillors Pam Lovelace and Waye Mason among others.

The HRM also has 16 districts with candidates running for councillors in each.
