Early this morning Environment Canada released a wind warning for Digby, Yarmouth and Shelburne counties. Wind gusts up to 90 km/h can be expected late into the afternoon.
The weather agency warns that high winds can toss objects or break tree branches, cautioning motorists on hazardous driving conditions, especially on highways.
While Nova Scotia Power estimates to have power restored to the majority of customers by 4:30 p.m., central regions like Lunenburg County also have special weather statements for wind.
