Shelburne man charged with attempted murder

Nova Scotia RCMP say a man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Shelburne over the weekend.

On Sunday at roughly 2:50 a.m., officers responded to a report that a man had been stabbed at a home on Shore Road.

Police say once they arrived, they found a man with serious injuries who was then taken to hospital.

According to Mounties, the suspect and victim knew each other, and the suspect had fled the home before police arrived.

He was then arrested a short time later.

Jason Morash, 41, of Shelburne, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and aggravated assault.

He appeared in Yarmouth Provincial Court on Monday and will appear in court again in November.
