Halifax Regional Police (HRP) are investigating a fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash near the intersection of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street Thursday morning.

According to police, a 24-year-old woman was struck by a Halifax Transit bus at the downtown intersection just before 7 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area has since reopened to traffic.

The crash comes less than a day after a crash on Spring Garden Road between Summer Street and South Park yesterday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.

Police investigating that crash say a cyclist travelling down Spring Garden Road collided with the open door of a parked vehicle.

The 23-year old cyclist was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into both crashes remains ongoing. Police are asking for anyone with video or information from the scene to come forward.
