New poll shows Houston’s PCs maintaining big lead over NDP and Liberals

According to new data released by MQO research this morning, Tim Houston’s PC party continues to hold a significant lead in support.

According to the new data, 51 percent of decided voters polled for the survey say they will vote for the PCs on Tuesday; 24 percent indicated that they would vote for the NDP, and 22 percent said they would support the Liberal party.

The telephone survey consisted of 500 voters and was conducted immediately after the CBC TV debate on Nov. 14 and continued until Nov. 20.

As for choice for Premier, 56 percent of respondents said they would like to see Houston in the top job, an increase of 5 percent from an earlier MQO poll. Second place went to NDP Claudia Chender, who remained steady at 23 percent, and third was Liberal Zach Churchill, at 18 percent, a drop of 4 points.

Nova Scotians will pick a new government on Nov. 26.
