The province says starting Saturday, some people will be able to pick up essential provincial government mail that’s been delayed by the ongoing strike at Canada Post.
In a release, the government says people who have received a call from staff will be able to get their mail at an Access Nova Scotia location between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
“Nova Scotians who have not yet received a call about their essential correspondence are asked to be patient while waiting to hear from staff,” the media release says.
It says pickup will be on Saturday mornings, but people can inquire with staff about other pickup days.
Some of the essential mail includes Heating Assistance Rebate cheques, Property Tax Rebate for Seniors payments and long-term care reassessment forms.
“Wherever possible, Nova Scotians should use online services and direct deposit,” the release says.
