Police investigating home invasion of a family in East Preston

Police are investigating a home invasion that took place in East Preston early Friday morning.

At roughly 2:15 a.m., Mounties responded to a report of a home invasion on Upper Partridge Road near Highway 7 where three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, broke into the home through a window. They are accused of assaulting one of the three residents and demanding money before taking off.

Police say a 42-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital, while the two other occupants of the home, a 48-year-old woman and a youth, did not suffer physical injuries.

Police searched the area afterwards but could not find the suspects.

The three male suspects wore black ski masks. Two of them were dressed in black, while the third was wearing a black and white jogging suit.

Police say they do not believe this was a random incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
