Halifax police search for officer’s lost taser

Halifax Regional Police is asking the public for help locating a taser that police say fell from an officer’s holster on Monday night.

Police say it came loose during a foot chase on Yorkshire Avenue in Dartmouth, and officers weren’t able to find the device when they went back to look a few minutes later.

“Police believe someone has taken possession of the taser and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating it,” reads a news release from HRP. “It is prohibited by law for members of the general public to possess police-issued equipment.”
