Investigators with Halifax Regional Police say they know there are people out there with information about the events that led to the death of eight-year-old Lee’Marion Cain on Dec. 21, 2021. They are urging anyone to come forward to help solve the care and bring justice to the victim’s family three years after the tragedy.
At approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 21, 2021, officers responded to reports of a shooting involving two vehicles near the intersection of Windmill Rd. and Waddell Ave. in Dartmouth. It is alleged shots were fired from the suspects at another vehicle, hitting Lee’Marion and a 26-year-old man. Both were transported to hospital where Lee’Marion succumbed to his injuries. The man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have obtained video footage of the shooting which has provided that there are at least two suspects involved in the homicide. They were able to identify the vehicle as a burgundy Chevrolet Traverse with tinted windows. The suspects are described as Black men in their 20s or 30s.
“This is a tragic death that deeply affected many in our community,” a release from police states. “Our investigators believe that even the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation.”
