The snow came just in time to create the perfect holiday setting across Nova Scotia.
Over 15 cm of snow was reported to have accumulated in Dartmouth over the past 24 hours. That makes Christmas Day the deepest day for snow the province has seen since Dec. 4, 2023.
The special weather statements that were put into effect Tuesday have been lifted, but the province could see up to 5 cm more of snow before the end of the day. Weather advisories have been lifted for the rest of the Maritimes except for the eastern coast of Newfoundland which has a winter travel advisory in effect until Boxing Day.
While the special overnight parking ban for Zone 1 and Zone 2 has now been lifted, an overnight winter parking ban remains in effect from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. ever night until March 31.
“Regardless of the status of an overnight winter parking ban, or whether you have received a notification, vehicles can be towed any time during the day or night, any day of the year, if they are interfering with snow-clearing operations,” the city reminds residents.
