Long-time Mooseheads Rousseau, Crosby traded to Moncton

The Halifax Mooseheads made a big move ahead of the close of the QMJHL trade window.

Star goalie Mathis Rousseau and veteran winger Logan Crosby have been sent to the Moncton Wildcats in exchange for goalie Jacob Steinman, two second-round draft picks and a fourth-round pick.

“Mathis has done everything and more that we could have ever expected him to in a Mooseheads jersey,” said Halifax GM Cam Russell. “These decisions are never easy, but we wanted to give him a chance at winning a championship while helping our team get better for the future. We wish him and Logan the best of luck in Moncton.”

According to the team, Rousseau is second only to Zach Fucale in Mooseheads franchise history with 93 career wins, is second to Dany Dallaire in career save percentage at .912 and finishes his Halifax career third in team history with a 2.74 goals against average.

Crosby, a Nova Scotia native, spent four years in Halifax, putting up 58 points in 163.

In return the Mooseheads are getting Steinman, a talented goalie with a league-best 2.13 goals against average. He also has the second-best save percentage at .928.
