Here are the most popular baby names of 2024 in Nova Scotia

The province released its annual list of the most popular baby names in Nova Scotia.

Theodore topped the list in 2024 after Henry was number one the year prior. The province’s registry of vital statistics shows that the top 10 most popular names include William, Jack, Noah, Charlotte, Amelia, Oliver, Benjamin Olivia, and Levi.

The most popular names usually remain consistent for over three years, the press release notes. Some newer names are gaining popularity such as Hazel, and older favourites are coming back, like Lucas and Owen.

As of Dec. 30 there were 7,154 registered births across the province, which started the data base in 1864. The most popular names that year were Mary and John.
