Man in his 70s killed at crosswalk; HRP issue ticket to driver

Halifax Regional Police say a man has died after being struck by a vehicle on Monday morning.

At roughly 7 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Victoria Road and Chappell Street where a 72-year-old man was struck while he was in a marked crosswalk.

Police said the man was then taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

According to HRP, the driver, a 30-year-old man, was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
