RCMP investigate fatal crash in East Hants

East Hants RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that took place Wednesday afternoon in Upper Rawdon.

Mounties said emergency crews responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed on Highway 14 in Upper Rawdon where a Hyundai Tucson left the roadway and landed on its roof in a ditch.

Police said the driver, a 40-year-old woman from Windsor, N.S., was pronounced deceased at the scene despite first aid efforts from first responders and bystanders.

The crash shut down the highway for several hours but it has since reopened.

RCMP said the investigation is ongoing.
