WestJet announces direct flights between Halifax and Amsterdam

Another direct flight to Europe is beginning this summer at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

WestJet has announced that starting May 29 it will be offering non-stop trips to Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

The airline says the summer service will run up to six times per week.

“This service is not just a link between cities but a connection between cultures, fostering economic growth and tourism in both regions,” said Marie Manning, HIAA Vice President, Business Development & Chief Commercial Officer.

Officials are hoping the flight paths stir up business on both sides, with many Canadians heading to experience the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House and more in Amsterdam, with the hope that Europeans will come to explore the province’s rich heritage and natural beauty.

WestJet will also be continuing its summer non-stop flights to London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
