One person injured in early-morning fire in Halifax

Halifax Fire says one person was seriously injured in an early-morning fire in the west end.
Deputy Chief Dave Meldrum says crews were called to the fire on Pennington Street just after 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Meldrum says there was a working fire in the back of a structure that was quickly knocked down by firefighters.
One person was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Two families are getting help from the Canadian Red Cross as they have been displaced by the fire.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
