RCMP investigating vehicle arson in Upper Tantallon

Police are investigating after a 2016 Ford Mustang was deliberately set on fire in Upper Tantallon early Wednesday morning.

RCMP and fire crews were called to Hemlock Drive around 2:30 a.m. Investigators say a woman lit the vehicle on fire before fleeing in a nearby sedan or small SUV.

No injuries were reported.

The woman is described as being between 5’5″ and 5’7″ and weighing about 130 pounds.

RCMP are asking anyone in the Westwood Hills area with security camera footage of suspicious vehicle activity to contact police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), online at crimestoppers.ns.ca, or through the P3 Tips app.
