Early morning shooting leaves man with serious injuries

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to hospital early Friday morning.

Officers responded to the 200-300 block of St Margarets Bay Road around 5:30 a.m., where they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages but believe the incident was not random.

St. Margarets Bay Road was closed for several hours near the Armdale Roundabout but was reopened just after noon on Friday.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to contact police or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
