Police investigate hate crime in Eastern HRM

Mounties are investigating a hate crime that took place in Lower Ship Harbour last week.

On March 25, around 11:10 a.m., police received a report of mischief at a home on West Ship Harbour Road where officers discovered a Pride flag and an Every Child Matters flag located at the end of a driveway had been vandalized sometime the previous day.

Police said they believe the mischief was motivated by hate, adding investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify a person of interest who has grey hair and was wearing a black jacket, black pants and grey shoes at the time of the incident.
