Huskies shutout Mooseheads, claim 2-0 series lead

The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies controlled Game 2 of the second-round series against the Halifax Mooseheads, defeating the Herd 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies took the lead in the second period and never let up as Ty Higgins scored the opening goal for Rouyn-Noranda. Bill Zonnon added two more goals before the end of the second period to give the Huskies a three-goal lead heading into the third period.
In the third, Rémi Gélinas scored his first of the series and Ty Higgins added his second of the night to earn the victory for Rouyn-Noranda.
The Huskies now have a 2-0 series lead over the Mooseheads as the series pivots to Halifax.

The Huskies earned all three stars of the afternoon. Bill Zonnon claimed first star with two goals and two assists. Higgins earned second star with 2 goals and an assist while third star went to Rémi Gélinas with a goal and an assist.
The Herd will have three days to recover as they return to Halifax to host game 3 at the Scotiabank Centre on Tuesday, April 15. Puck drop is 7 p.m., and you can catch all the action here on 95.7 NewsRadio.
