It has been 25 years since the murder of 20-year-old Tyrone Oliver, and Halifax Regional Police say the case remains under investigation.
On the evening of July 20, 2000, around 11 p.m., officers responded to a report of several shots fired in the 2400 block of Creighton Street.
Police found Oliver at a basketball court suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he later died.
Officers also responded to two stabbings and an assault around the same time and in the same area. Investigators believe the incidents are related.
Oliver’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers a cash reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police.
