Family doctor waitlist drops by more than 1,500 in July, says NS Health

The number of Nova Scotians in need of a family doctor dropped by more than 1,500 people last month.

According to Nova Scotia Health, which said that as of Aug. 1, there are more than 87,879 people on the Need a Family Practice Registry.

That’s a drop from July 1, which saw 89,455 Nova Scotians on the registry.

According to NSH, the people who were removed from the registry were either attached to a provider or removed as a result of ongoing validation work.

This leaves 8.3 percent of the province’s population on the registry.

For more information, people can head to the Need a Family Practice Registry website.
