Police identify Halifax murder victim, say incident not random

Halifax Regional Police have identified the man killed in Halifax on Wednesday.

According to police, officers were called just after 11 a.m. to Gottingen Street between Charles and Uniacke to reports of an injured man. The man later died in hospital.

Police have now identified the victim as 59-year-old Troy Clayton of Halifax.

Few details have been released about the incident, but police say it’s not believed to have been random.

HRP is asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to reach out.

Clayton is the sixth homicide in HRM this year.
