Halifax man charged with second-degree murder following dispute

HALIFAX — Halifax Regional Police have charged a man with second-degree murder following a fight earlier this week.

Police say they responded to a report of an injured man on Gottingen Street on Wednesday morning.

Troy Clayton, 59, was rushed to hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police ruled Clayton’s death a homicide on Thursday.

Aaron James Johnson, 40, has been charged with second-degree murder after Clayton’s death.

Johnson will appear in Halifax provincial court on Monday.
