It is the time of year to help one another out and Souls Harbour Rescue Mission is doing just that.
The Souls Harbour Christmas Dinner is being served to people in need at nine locations across Nova Scotia.
From Cape Breton to the South Shore, the organization says it expects to serve 1,200 free meals during the day.
New locations this year include Amherst, New Waterford, Dartmouth and Yarmouth.
Souls Harbour says all members of the community are welcome to take part in a family-style traditional turkey dinner and share Christmas stockings.
CEO Michelle Porter says Christmas at Souls Harbour is about community and aims to remind people they are not alone at this time of year.
