A small fire broke out on the roof of Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre on Thursday.
According to the Halifax Professional Fire Fighters, crews responded to the fire around 12:45 p.m.
“Additional resources were requested as crews deployed hose lines and aerial devices to bring the fire under control,” read a social media post from the union. “Fire fighters are currently engaged in suppression efforts, roof operations, and scene management.”
Halifax Regional Police had closed Duke and Carmichael streets near the arena as of 1:30 p.m. as fire crews responded.
The Scotiabank Centre is expected to be a busy place this upcoming weekend, with the Halifax Mooseheads in action on Saturday night and the PWHL “Takeover Tour” returning on Sunday afternoon for a game between the Ottawa Charge and Boston Fleet.
