Environment Canada says high winds and heavy rain in store for Atlantic Canada

HALIFAX — Parts of Atlantic Canada are in for some wet, windy — and in some cases snowy — weather today.
Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for much of the south coast of Newfoundland where as much as 100 millimetres of rain — and winds of up to 100 kilometres per hour — are expected this evening and overnight.
Up to 20 centimetres of snow is forecast for parts of Labrador, changing to ice pellets and freezing rain as temperatures rise Tuesday.
Storm warnings are in place for much of New Brunswick, where the strongest winds and up to 60 mm of rain are expected along the Fundy coast.
All of Nova Scotia is under advisories, with up to 50 mm of rain forecast for the Atlantic coast.
Western Cape Breton and parts of the Highlands could see winds reaching 120 km/h.
