Inmate stabbed several times suffers life-threatening injuries

Halifax Regional Police say an inmate at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility suffered life-threatening injuries just before 5 p.m. Saturday after being stabbed several times.
The 39-year-old victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre.
Five male inmates now face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
They will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
