Halifax police have charged a 22-year-old man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police after a head-on collision.
Police say they tried to stop the driver for a motor vehicle infraction just before 9 last night on North West Arm Drive, but he didn’t stop, and fled recklessly through a residential neighbourhood.
Officers ended the pursuit at Tamarack Drive and Osborne Street, but shortly after, they found the vehicle on nearby Mayo Street after a head-on crash with another driver.
The 51-year-old driver of that vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated on the scene by paramedics.
The 22-year-old man was arrested on the scene without incident.
He’s since been released from custody and police say he’ll appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date.
Police say the investigation continues.
