Co-accused in Jennifer Horne murder seeking bail

The young woman charged in the disturbing death of Jennifer Horne is applying to be released into the public.

Ashley Haley has been assessed and has qualified for the adult bail supervision program, which could see her released into the public.

After a full day in court, the hearing has been adjourned until next Friday.

The victim’s step-uncle Steve Andrews says its the 27th or 28th adjournment since Horne’s death in December 2007.

“From the perspective of the family we certainly are understanding that the wheels of justice turn slowly, that’s become very obvious to us,” says Andrews. “We still have faith in the system.”

The details of the hearing are under a publication ban. However if bail is granted, Haley would be monitored with a GPS ankle bracelet, random telephone and door checks and a curfew along with other restrictions.
