Halifax Regional Police believe a rental car they found on fire in a parking lot early Friday morning is the same one that crashed into a median and temporary work sign on North Street near the Macdonald Bridge.
Police were called to the area to respond to the collision at 3:43 a.m. where witnesses told them the grey Mazda 5 with front end damage was last seen heading north on Gottingen Street.
Four minutes later at 3:47 a.m., surveillance video shows a grey Mazda 5 with significant front end damage pulling into a parking lot on Barrington Street near Devonshire Avenue.
Later that morning the car caught fire and crews were called to the parking lot at 6:18 a.m. to extinguish the flames.
Investigators say no one can been seen in the video footage of the parking lot.
