Police arrest suspect following assault downtown last Monday

HALIFAX – Police have arrested a man following an assault last week in Halifax.
On Oct. 2, a Halifax man told police he was jumped on Spring Garden Rd. and punched repeatedly in the side of the head.
The alleged attack happening in broad daylight, around 1:00 p.m.
The suspect got onto a Halifax Transit bus, and despite their best efforts, police couldn’t find him.
Thursday night, officers arrested the suspect on Herring Cove Rd. The 30-year-old man is charged with assault causing bodily harm, and will be in court in November.
