According to the municipality, two of the city's main public nature areas have re-opened as of Saturday, September 14.
The Halifax Public Gardens and Point Pleasant Park have remained closed since Hurricane Dorian hit the city last weekend.
Point Pleasant opened officially at 9 a.m. Saturday, but the city reminds residents that some areas remain closed due to fallen trees and debris.
This includes Prince of Wales Drive, Heather Rd., and the lower parking lot.
The department of Parks and Recreation is encouraging residents to remain on the path, use caution along the shoreline, and keep pets on-leash.
City staff issued a Tweet just after 10 a.m. Saturday stating that the Public Gardens were also open.
