RCMP are reminding people to lock their homes after a series of break-ins near the Rails to Trails path in Black Point and Hubbards.
Mounties say a suspect or suspects damaged a door to get into a Black Point home on Fryday Rd. sometime between Saturday and Monday. A blue Hyper Electric 700c unisex bike was stolen from a locked shed in the yard.
While officers were investigating that incident, they noticed another home on Fryday Rd. had its front door open, and when they took a closer look, found it had been forced open. The home was vacant and nothing was inside.
Then a home on St. Margarets Bay Rd. in Hubbards was broken into on Monday sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Police believe they got in through an unlocked basement door.
Late last week, RCMP sent out a release about break-ins at three homes and a church in the Queensland/Hubbards area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
