Police officer in Saint John, N.B., faces charges including falsifying police report

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — A long-serving New Brunswick police officer has been suspended and faces numerous charges following an investigation by the RCMP.
Sgt. David Kimball, a 23-year member of the Saint John Police Force, was charged today in provincial court with falsifying a police report, obstruction of justice and breach of trust.
Kimball has been suspended with pay and is to appear in court Dec. 8.
Police Chief Robert Bruce says in a statement that Saint John police officers are expected to hold themselves to high moral and professional standards.
He says the force remains confident in the judicial process.
A Police Act investigation will follow the conclusion of the criminal proceedings against Kimball.
