’10 per cent of Nova Scotian consumers bought weed from NSLC’: CRA survey says

By Matt Brand

A recent survey looked into the buying habits of Nova Scotians and New Brunswickers when it comes to legal cannabis.

A survey done by CRA in Fall 2017 showed about one in 10 consumers from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick would buy legal weed.

A new survey done by CRA shows about one in 10 consumers bought weed from legal vendors.

However, Halifax was slightly lower at 7 per cent compared to 10 per cent for Moncton and Fredericton.

Don Mills with CRA told NEWS 95.7 they did find the Halifax number surprising.

“Halifax has got one of the youngest populations in Atlantic Canada and we thought the numbers would be more equal to other cities that we did,” he said.

But that doesn't mean more Haligonians won't be buying legal weed.

About 20 per cent of Halifax residents indicate they would likely purchase marijuana from a legal vendor in the near future.
