Outage impacts thousands of NS Power customers in downtown Halifax (update: restored)

Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers were without power on Wednesday morning in downtown Halifax. 

The utility reported the outage just after 8 a.m., saying 1,633 customers were impacted. 

The power outage stretches from Barrington St. and Cogswell St. down to Point Pleasant Park. 

Nova Scotia Power was investigating the cause of the outage and expected power to return by 12:30 p.m.
