Police charge man after assault with a bat

Regional police have charged a man in connection to an assault that took place Friday morning in Dartmouth.

At roughly 9:40 a.m., officers responded to Primrose Street where a man threatened a group of people with a bat.

Police say the man got into an argument with three men and then assaulted one of the men with the bat.

Officers arrived on scene and arrested the suspect without incident and the victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 36-year-old man was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
