As things continue to dry out from Saturday’s rainfall, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the region, warning of another storm.
The national forecaster says a strong low-pressure system is moving east from the Great Lakes and is expected to arrive in the Maritimes on Tuesday (Aug. 8) night.
The statement says that this system has the potential to create heavy rain at times, with the potential rainfall totals reaching or exceeding 50 millimetres (mm).
Environment Canada does say that there is still some uncertainty about this storm and says it’s too early to predict which areas will receive the most rain.
