RCMP asking for public’s help finding a missing Colchester County hunter

Colchester County RCMP are looking for help as they try to locate a missing hunter. 

Fred Bishop Coldwell, 75, left home Thursday on his ATV to go hunting in the woods off Truro Rd in McCallum Settlement and has not been heard from since.

Colchester County District RCMP and multiple Ground Search and Rescue personnel from Colchester, East Hants, Pugwash, Pictou, Musquodoboit, Halifax, Springhill and Eastern Shore have been searching the area since yesterday evening with the assistance of Bible Hill Volunteer Fire and RCMP Police Dog Services.

Searchers located Coldwell’s ATV on Thursday on Truro Rd but have not been able to find him.  Coldwell is described as a man, 5-foot-10, 210 lbs, with short grey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen dressed in bright orange.

The search resumed Friday morning, with officials asking hunters to stay out of the area as they continue to look for Coldwell.
