The struggles continued for the Halifax Mooseheads on Saturday night, with the Herd coming up short in the final game of a lengthy Quebec road trip.
The Huskies started red hot, outshooting Halifax 22-6 in the first period.
Rouyn-Noranda would lead 2-0 after the first on goals from Louis-Philippe Fontaine and Thomas Verdon, a score that could have been even higher if not for the strong play of Mooseheads’ goalie Mathis Rousseau.
Halifax defended better in the second but were still outshot 10-5 by the Huskies. The score remained at 2-0 after period number two and that would be the final.
The Mooseheads have now lost five of their last six games as the team struggles after a dominant start to the season.
Halifax will be back in action at home on Friday as Gatineau pays a visit to the port city. Catch all the action on CityNews 95.7, starting with the pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.
